Rangers have title momentum even if they miss top spot shot as Kenny Miller looks beyond Celtic 'negativity'

Kenny Miller reckons the title momentum is with Rangers regardless of whether they go top of the table on Wednesday night.

If Philippe Clement's team beat Ross County by more than two goals, they'll have wiped out the seven point gap Celtic held when the Belgian arrived to clean up Michael Beale's mess. That would see him hit top spot for the first time this season and perhaps strike a psychological blow to their rivals.

However, to even be in the position they are is testament to Clement's work, according to Miller. And he believes that Gers have the bit between their teeth in the title race, with the mood around Ibrox now transformed from the toxic environment that was evident earlier in the season. And the former Scotland striker insists that will remain regardless of whether they leapfrog the champions or not, with two Old Firm derbies still to come this season.

Asked if it would be a mental boost to the Light Blues, Miller told Sky Sports: "I think it has to. Philippe Clement doesn't really want to hear that. He's not talking about it and he doesn't want his players to be thinking like that. But just to see yourself sitting on top. If they can get the right result by the right amount of goals, to see yourself sitting on top of the league, that definitely gives you a boost.

"To be honest, I already think the momentum has shifted to the blue side of Glasgow since Philippe Clement has come in. But going top of the league tonight - if they can - would be a massive boost for them. You'd much rather see yourself sitting top than sitting second.

"It's impossible to call at this moment in time. I do think feel good factor and momentum has shifted to Rangers. But by the way, Celtic are in really good form as well.
