Airdrie's Sir Alex Ferguson Scottish Cup centenary dinner reaches "phenomenal demand"
Airdrie say “phenomenal demand” for their Scottish Cup winners' centenary dinner in April has resulted in a delayed response, and have asked fans for patience.
The dinner at the DoubleTree by Hilton Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld on Sunday, April 28, will feature Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson as guest of honour, as the New Broomfield club mark their 1924 Scottish Cup triumph, in which they beat Hibs.
Also joining the evening is comedian Jonathan Watson, star of ‘Only An Excuse’ and ‘Two Doors Down’ fame.
Airdrie report receiving “phenomenal demand” for the £100 a head tickets, and said in a social media post: “Due to phenomenal demand for places at our 1924 celebration dinner, email replies are taking longer than expected.
“Applications are being dealt with in order of receipt, and all applicants will be contacted as soon as possible!”
The centenary dinner is one of several events planned to mark the historic cup win.
