Neil McCann spots Rangers missing element that would have AVOIDED slap in the chops

Neil McCann reckons Rangers would have AVOIDED their Motherwell shock loss if they had ONE key element in the team.

Pundit McCann reckons the lack of an out and out goalscorer is hurting Rangers. They created some big chances once again but Cyriel Dessers and Fabio Silva were guilty of passing up the opportunities. He knows his old club have been 'immense' under Clement since his arrival but reckons today's loss to Motherwell will hurt and it is now back to the drawing board as they get ready for a big Europa League showdown with Benfica and the Scottish Cup quarter-finals with a visit to Hibs at Easter Road on the horizon.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene, McCann said: "I don't believe Rangers have an out and out goalscorer. I know Dessers has hit the goals he has got. Silva doesn't get across the front post. That really should be buried. A natural born goalscorer puts these in the back of the net and Rangers don't succumb to that defeat that they've suffered today.

"I know Dessers has done well and the manager is right to say that the rotation of the squad has been excellent. But so many chances you can't be that wasteful in passing them up. But I do believe if they had that out and out striker they would be a lot more comfortable in games.
