Xavi names Manchester United player as toughest opponent his Barcelona have faced

Barcelona manager Xavi reckons that Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is among the most dangerous players the Catalan giants have encountered during his spell in the Camp Nou dugout.

Rashford scored 30 goals for United in all competitions last season, including one against Barcelona at their iconic stadium, but the 25-year-old has yet to really hit his straps this campaign. In a misfiring United team, Rashford has just one goal to his name from eight appearances.

Barcelona and Xavi, meanwhile, continue to go from strength to strength after recapturing the La Liga crown last term. The club's legendary former midfielder will manage his 100th game in their Champions League showdown vs Portuguese side FC Porto at Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday night (8pm).

Similarly to United - who finished third in the Premier League last season - Barcelona are back in the big time after completing their return to the main European competition. Those two heavyweights locked horns last campaign in the Europa League with United winning 4-3 on aggregate.

Rashford scored and provided an assist in the first leg, which ended 2-2 before United completed the job at hand. United were 2-1 winners in the return leg at Old Trafford, but victory in that play-off meeting did not spur the team on to European glory as they were dumped out by Sevilla at the quarter-final stage.
