Martinez, Reguilon, Mainoo - Manchester United injury latest and return dates ahead of Galatasaray

Manchester United are set to enter their Champions League contest with Galatasaray with a number of key players still sidelined. The injury list has thinned slightly since their last outing in the competition when they had 11 players out against Bayern Munich.

That match ended 4-3, although United struggled to take control of the game. They will be expected to dictate the game against Galatasaray, who staged a dramatic late comeback in their Champions League opener against Copenhagen.

United do have a number of stars back from injury including Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount, both of whom will hope to make up for the team’s disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday. Erik ten Hag will not be able to call upon every member of his squad though, including Lisandro Martinez.

Injury: Foot (recurrence of April’s metatarsal injury)

Erik ten Hag confirmed on Monday that Martinez will undergo surgery again for the metatarsal fracture that ended his 2022/23 campaign in April. The Argentine is not expected to return to action until 2024.

Injury: Ankle

The midfielder joined in group training ahead of Tuesday's European clash with Galatasaray. The 18-year-old was seen undergoing individual training last month and his inclusion back with the main group hints that a return is close.
