Piccadilly Gardens LIVE: Police cordon off bus stop as man taken to hospital - latest updates

Emergency services are on the scene of an incident in Piccadilly Gardens this morning.

Pictures show a number of police vehicles on the scene. Paramedics are also responding to the incident.

A cordon is also currently in place around a bus stop near the entrance to Primark, with a Stagecoach bus parked up nearby. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said officers were called to the scene just before 9.30am over reports of concern for a man's welfare.

The M.E.N understands the man suffered a medical episode at the bus stop. He has since been taken to hospital.

Officers are on the scene to assist with road closures and to assist paramedics.
