Danilo gets VIP Rangers transfer welcome as trophy room turns star attraction in first Ibrox glimpse

Danilo has been left loving his new surroundings after giving his new Rangers followers an insight into one of his first glimpses at Ibrox.

The Brazilian-born striker got his first taste of life in Michael Beale's side during a 2-2 friendly draw in Germany against Hoffenheim on Saturday, ahead of next weekend's Premiership curtain raiser against Kilmarnock. Danilo has been one of his new boss' top targets this summer and after jetting back into Glasgow from the club's last friendly of this pre-season, he has had a look at his new surroundings.

He posted photos from within the hallways in Govan, including a photo of the badge and list of major honours won by Rangers, located in the tunnel. Then he made his way into the trophy room, where he left a sliding scale alongside a love-heart eyes emoji for followers to rate how much they liked what they were seeing.

Handed number 99, fans could get their first competitive look at Danilo next week at Rugby Park. He told Rangers TV after his arrival: "When Rangers came, I knew it was a great opportunity for my future.

"I had a great conversation with him [Beale] as he shared his plan, what I could bring to the squad with my qualities. He spoke about being in Brazil for a bit, so it was a nice feeling that he can understand my country and where I came from. That's why I fought to come to the club."
