Daniel Podence retains Celtic transfer non negotiable as Wolves star holds key craving after Premier League misstep

Wolves star Daniel Podence has already told Celtic what they need to do to land him this summer with speculation ramping up over a signing.

The 27-year-old winger is said to be on the radar of Brendan Rodgers as the Irishman looks to beef up his attack with the attacker who is touted with a £12million price tag going into the summer window. Jota has left a void in the Scottish Premiership champions' attack after his £25m move to Al Ittihad and his countryman could come in to replace him if the Molineux side negotiate on their asking price with the Hoops.

The attacker has struggled for regular game time in his three years since joining Wolves in a £17million move from Olympiacos - and last season he was in and out of the starting line-up once against as the club struggled to make their mark on the English top flight - and at times were staring at relegation. Last summer he admitted that more minutes on the pitch was vital for him and his future.

He told the club website: “I have to push it into the Premier League games. For me, it doesn’t matter if it’s a cup or Premier League game.

“I want to enter the pitch to score and assist every game – sometimes the team helps me, sometimes I help the team. As soon as I get on to the pitch, I want to make goals, assist and be happy.”

Brendan Rodgers may have to promise regular game time to unlock a deal this summer. However, the addition of Yang also adds another winger to his pool following Jota's exit - but the pledge could seal the deal.
