Nikhat Zareen and Yuvraj Singh are champions in their own rights. While Nikhat Zareen is a two-time world champion in boxing, Yuvraj was integral part of the Indian cricket teams which won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup.

The two stars met each other during a promotional event recently and Nikhat, who won the World Boxing Championships in 2022 and 2023, mentioned to Yuvraj an uncanny similarity between the two. "Aap field pe chakke maarte ho, main ring mein mukke marti hu (you hit sixes on the field, I hit punches in the ring).

The similarity is that you won the World Cup in 2011 and the same year I won the Junior World Championship. So, there is a similarity right?" Nikhat told Yuvraj in a video posted by Star Sports. "But you have won the World Championship twice.

So, you have gone the extra mile," Yuvraj replied. Nikhat also commented on her early days while she started to take up he sport seriously. "My first sparring session was with a boy.

The incredibly high number of matches in recent years forced the Indian team to "use" a lot of players across formats, said head coach Rahul Dravid on Tuesday. On the eve of the World Test Championship final against Australia at the Oval, Dravid spoke about his experiences of coaching the Indian side and how his journey has been. "We have got some experienced players, we've got a lot of younger players coming through as well over the course of last 18 months. We had to use a lot of players because of three different formats and amount of cricket India plays," Dravid told Star Sports.
Cricket is a game where innovation has always had a big impact. It is one sport which has not been averse to changes. Be it format-wise or rule-wise, innovation has been at the centre. A funny example of it was visible during a local cricket match where a kid could be seen employing an unique technique to negate the pitch. The kid dived forward and hit a shot before the ball landed on the pitch. The video has been widely shared on social media.
Former India cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Mohammed Kaif shared their insights on the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and Australia in a recent interview with Star Sports. Speaking exclusively to Star Sports, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said that he would prefer playing KS Bharat over Ishan Kishan for the WTC Final as he has been a more consistent performer in tests.
Former India captain Virat Kohli and Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, among several other sportspersons, expressed their anguish over the devastating train accident in Odisha's Balasore district, that has killed at least 238 people and injured more than 900. The train crash on Friday, involving the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train, is one of the deadliest such accidents since independence.
As the Indian cricket team heads into the World Test Championship final against Australia, there are questions over the form of skipper Rohit Sharma. The Hitman had an ordinary season for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, prompting many to question if he can deliver in the title showdown against Australia. However, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar doesn't feel Rohit's IPL form should even be considered as a worry as India gear up for the Test assignment.
The World Test Championship final is only a week away. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is eyeing a good result as it faces the Australian team in the summit clash at The Oval, starting on June 7. Since 2013, India have come close many times but have failed to win an ICC trophy each time. The WTC final, the second one for India, presents the team a good opportunity to end that drought. Several top players like Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are not part of the team due to injury. Despite Bumrah's absence, the Indian pace line-up looks pretty strong. However, in Pant's absence, the choice is between Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat.
