Motherwell teen Max Johnston and Albion Rovers midfielder Charlie Reilly have both been shortlisted for the Young Player of the Year prize at this year's Scottish Football Writers Association (SFWA) awards.
Wing-back Johnston has lit up Fir Park this season with his impressive displays at the back and going forward, landing him plenty of interest from clubs across Europe with Portugese side Sporting Lisbon and Italian outfit Bolgna reported to be among his admirers.
He has also netted twice for the Steelmen and been nominated for goal of the season for his strike against St Mirren. The 19-year-old is in the running alongside Rovers' Reilly, who picked up the PFA Scotland League Two Player of the Year Award on Sunday night and was also nominated alongside Rangers and Celtic stars in the PFA's Young Player of the Year category.
Reilly netted 22 goals and provided 14 assists in 34 games in League Two, despite Rovers finishing bottom of the division. The Lanarkshire pair will be battling it out with St Johnstone left-back Adam Montgomery, who is on loan from Celtic, and Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron.
