James Tavernier taunt backfires as Rangers captain hit with 'join your brother' troll before Hibs wonder strike

Hibs fans were desperate to put off Rangers captain James Tavernier before he scored the opening goal in their Easter Road stroll - but a jibe involving his brother Marcus spectacularly backfired.

The Ibrox captain curled a free-kick beyond David Marshall at Easter Road on his 400th appearance for the club to set the visitors on their way to a 3-1 victory over Lee Johnson's side.

The skipper appeared to have a brief rethink of the plan of action with Ianis Hagi before wrong-footing the Hibs No. 1 with a curling effort that was bumped into the net by the Scotland cap.

Before Tavernier lined up the free-kick, a Hibs fan could be heard aiming a dig at the Rangers full back - citing his brother and Bournemouth star Marcus in the attempted troll.
