Manchester United supporters hailed 20-year-old left-back Alvaro Fernandez for his delicious assist for Marc Jurado’s goal against Wrexham.
The Welsh side had gone 2-0 up before the two Spaniards linked up to net for United in first-half stoppage time. Fernandez sent over a superb ball from the left and Jurado arrived in front of his man to convert smartly.
While the former Barcelona man scored, it was Fernandez, who started the pre-US tour friendlies against Leeds and Lyon after a promising year out on loan at Preston, earning the plaudits.
Fernandez won the North End's young player of the season award for his efforts at Deepdale and was named in Erik ten Hag’s senior squad for the tour of the States.
