Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has landed a new role at at the club just days after news broke of Sir Alex Ferguson's ambassadorial contract coming to an end.
The 49-year-old was on freelance ambassador duties for the Reds in India, according to The Sun. Neville was on a panel at the Minerva academy in Mohali, travelling to India for the Apollo Tyres flagship grassroots football programme, which is part of the 'United We Play' programme.
The Tyre company says the programme is designed "to enable our next-generation players to reach their optimum performance by unlocking their potential".
The report claims Neville's trip was one of a number of responsibilities the former England international has with the club - with the ex-defender also a regular on broadcast duty in the UK and the United States.
