Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has criticised Manchester United for their "disgusting" treatment of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The club is still dealing with the fallout from the harsh decision to terminate Ferguson's ambassadorial contract as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's ruthless cost-cutting measures across the club.

The 82-year-old became the latest high-profile casualty of the process, which saw around 250 staff members lose their jobs across all departments.

It's believed he was earning just over £2million per year as a club ambassador since retiring from management in 2013. However, Sagna has joined the chorus of ex-players and pundits condemning the decision to diminish Ferguson's role after his 26-year reign of dominance over English football.
