The Glazer family are in overall control of United but have put the club on sale and have invited interested parties to submit offers.

It is said the Glazers value United at around the £6bn mark. The family purchased United in 2005 with a takeover which cost nearly £800m and was reliant upon loans to make it a reality.

The family has been a rare sight at Old Trafford and are unpopular with the United fanbase owing to the level of debt they have saddled the club with and money taken out as a result to pay back interest, with some supporters establishing a breakaway club in the form of FC United of Manchester.
