Police close off Chorley New Road as two hurt in serious Bolton crash - updates

A main road in Bolton has been closed off this morning after a serious crash.

Chorley New Road is currently shut between Ox Hey Lane and Links Road, near Bolton Golf Club. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to a two-car crash this morning.

Paramedics are also scene. Two people have been left hurt.

The extent of their injuries is not yet known. Officers from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are on the scene.

Chorley New Road is currently shut between Ox Hey Lane and Links Road, according to traffic alert service Inrix.

The stretch of the road in the closure runs near to Bolton Golf Club.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said they have an ambulance and an air ambulance at the scene.

They were first called to Chorley New Road at around 10.12am.

The incident is ongoing.
