Drama as police seal off street and helicopter hovers with 'wanted man' reported to be on Cardiff rooftop - live updates

Police have blocked off a street near Cardiff city centre after reports a wanted man was sighted in the area. Moira Street in Adamsdown has been blocked off and the National Police Air Service is helping police on the ground.

There are around eight police vehicles at the scene and reports of a man on the roof of a house.

South Wales Police said they received a report around 12.45pm on Saturday (April 29) that a wanted man had been sighted.

A statement said: "Officers are currently at the scene along with the National Police Air Service and a specialist police negotiator in a bid to arrest him." It added: "The incident is contained, however, due to the presence of emergency services at the scene. We advise motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible whilst the incident is ongoing."

Meteor Street has also been closed by police.
