Huge delays on M62 and M60 following lorry crash - latest updates

Drivers are facing long delay on the M62 and M60 following a crash involving two lorries. Traffic is tailing back following a collision between junctions 12 at Eccles and 11 at Birchwood on the westbound M62.

All traffic was stopped following the collision, but one lane has since reopened. An image from the scene shows two lorries involved in a collision, with firefighters in attendance.

North West Motorway Police confirmed 'minor injuries' were reported following the incident. Drivers are also facing delays on the opposite side of the motorway, approaching the scene.

Meanwhile, queues are tailing back onto the M60 anticlockwise, as far as junction 15. Drivers are facing delays of an hour along the stretch, according to Inrix.

Drivers are now facing delays of an hour between junction 15 of the M60 anticlockwise and junction 11 of the M62, according to Inrix.

A lane of traffic has now been opened while recovery work takes place.
