Police close off stretch of main road after woman hit by car
Police have closed off a stretch of a main road in Trafford this morning after a woman was hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on Chester Road just after 7am. Police said she is believed to have non-serious injuries.
The southbound carriageway of Chester Road remains closed off, near White City Retail Park. Traffic is being diverted away from the area.

A tweet posted by Stagecoach said: "Routes 255/256. Diversion heading to outer destinations via Talbot Road. This is due to a Police incident on Chester Road/Warwick Road junction. Manchester bound journeys are not affected."

According to traffic alert service Inrix, Chester Road is still closed.
The closure is between The Trafford Pub and Ravenswood Road.
The southbound side of Chester Road remains blocked near White City Retail Park.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to the scene on Chester Road, near White City Retail Park, at around 7.05am this morning.
A female was hit by a car. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.
