Michael Beale reacts to Rangers result, names best player and warns stars against PSV 'frustration'

Michael Beale saluted his Rangers side for standing up to the challenge of a classy PSV Eindhoven side as he set his sights on completing the Champions League job in Holland.

The Ibrox boss saw goals from Abdallah Sima and substitute Rabbi Matondo earn a 2-2 draw in a ding-dong battle with the Dutch side who twice came from behind to level the first leg of the playoff tie. Now, after Saturday’s trip to Ross County, Beale will look to come up with a masterplan to inflict a first defeat on Peter Bosz’s men in six months in the Philips Stadium.

And Beale said: “I don’t think they’ll underestimate us but they better not because we’ll take our away fans and our form away from in Europe is strong. This PSV team haven’t lost since February and we were very close to beating them. They’re a team highly assembled in terms of finance. We had a right go. There’s areas I’d like us to get better in but I saw a lot of good signs in my team. There were times the going got tough and they didn’t look right or left - they got on with the game and found solutions.

“We played against a really good opponent. We wanted to set the tie up for next week had it where we wanted it with 10 minutes to go and had a big chance at the end with Danilo. But we can’t be frustrated and next week it’s a straight shoot-out and we’ll go and have a right go.

“The front three worked really hard. Cyriel Dessers had his best performance for Rangers so far. You can see he’s up to speed and he took the two centre halves on physically.
