Michael Beale wishes Rangers were a 'secret' to PSV but confident boss relishing Champions League destiny

Michael Beale believes PSV are wary of Rangers doing a job on them in the Champions League - and says his side have nothing to lose.

The Ibrox gaffer insists they’ll go all out for victory in Holland on Wednesday night in their play-off second-leg. With the tie finely balanced at 2-2 - just as it was a year ago - Rangers will need a repeat performance to qualify for the group stage. Beale says the Dutch outfit will know all about the threat his team pose and hinted that all the pressure is on Peter Bosz’s side.

After a 2-0 Premiership win over Ross County in Dingwall, the manager’s focus immediately turned to Europe. He said: “PSV knows we can score against them. They know our football club and everything about it. Sometimes I wish we were a secret but we’re not. We played them last year and put a good face to our club in terms of how we approached the game and how resilient we were.

“We did the same on Tuesday night in the first-leg. They’re a good team but we fought, harassed and pressured them. We gave them problems in terms of our speed and pressing. It’s important we do the same in midweek.

“I think there will be big spaces on the pitch because PSV will come for us. So it’s important that when we get our opportunities we take them.

“We have come out of the Ross County game with on injuries and our focus is now on a really difficult game - but an exciting one. Every week at Rangers feels like a big week. In the time I’ve been at the club no-one has told me it’s not a big week. And this one is up there.

“PSV will be a tough challenge because they’re a high quality team but we’ll go there and give it a right go. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”
