Buzzing Michael Beale reveals Rangers delight for Kemar Roofe as he offers transfer clue ahead of climax

Michael Beale says Rangers will go to the Netherlands boosted by Kemar Roofe's return to goalscoring form after a 2-0 Ross County waltz set them up nicely ahead of their Champions League play-off second leg with PSV.

It's a major clash for the Light Blues who had to Eindhoven locked at 2-2 after the first leg at Ibrox midweek, with Beale needing a repeat of the win in Holland that booked a top table group spot last year. The Staggies came first though and goals from the returning Kemar Roofe on his first start in 16 months and a James Tavernier screamer put them on easy street ahead of half-time.

They escaped a Jordan White scare immediately after the restart but the rest of the second half passed relatively without incident and crucially for the away side, without appearing to have picked up any major injury worries ahead of their major tie on the continent, with Roofe and Tom Lawrence making their competitive returns. Now Beale's eyes are all on PSV and he insists Rangers will give it their best European shot. He said: "Really strong away performance. I thought first half we started the game really well and had a couple of chances. Delighted for Kemar Roofe. We live with him very day and we know how frustrated he's been the last few months. I thought it was a fantastic finish off the corner and James scored an incredible goal.

"He's (Roofe) looked incredibly sharp all through pre-season. His goals per game record in this league and for Rangers is fantastic so that's a big boost for us. Both Kemar and Tom bring so much experience. We need those types.
