M62 traffic LIVE updates as THREE crashes cause delays

Drivers heading towards Manchester are being warned to expect delays on the M62 following three crashes.

Two incidents are currently causing delays near to Rochdale this morning (July 8).

Two cars and a van have been reportedly involved in a collision on the M62 westbound near junction 20 at Rochdale.

The road has been 'partially blocked' since around 6.38am, with queues building in the area, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.

A few miles further east, one lane is closed and queues are building following another crash on the westbound M62 between junctions 22 at Saddleworth and 23 at Huddersfield.

On the opposite side of the M62, drivers have also been hit by queues after a van overturned on the eastbound carriageway near Warrington.

Traffic was stopped on the M62 eastbound between junctions 10 at the M6 Croft Interchange, and junction 11 at Birchwood, shortly before 4am today (July 8).

One lane of traffic was reopened around half an hour later, before the remaining three lanes reopened at around 6.30am.

Emergency services were called out to the scene and a van was seen to have landed on its roof.

Drivers are also now being held up by a third M62 crash approaching Manchester.

One lane is closed on the westbound carriageway between junctions 22 and 23, near Saddleworth.

Queues remain on the incident near Rochdale, while delays have eased on the Warrington crash.
