Serious crash shuts part of A470 near Cardiff - live updates

The A470 towards Cardiff is currently blocked after a "serious collision". South Wales Police are at the scene of the crash on the A470 southbound between Nantgarw and Taff's Well.

The road is expected to be closed for some time. AA traffic planner shows that heavy traffic is starting to build in both directions, as people on the opposite side slow too.

A statement from South Wales Police said: "Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience."
