How Man City's summer sales have performed so far at their new clubs

Manchester City have let a staggering number of players go from the club this summer, with Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and James Trafford particularly noteworthy exits.

But how have some of the more notable players to have left been performing at their new clubs so far this season? MEN Sport have analysed their performances so you don’t have to.

Riyad Mahrez made 145 appearances for City between 2018 and 2023, winning four Premier League titles and the Champions League in his time with the club.

The winger signed for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli in a £30m deal last month and has adapted to life in his new team well. Mahrez picked up a goal and an assist in his first two games for the club - winning both games 3-1 alongside fellow ex-Premier League stars Roberto Firmino and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Mahrez was awarded Player of the Match in their recent fixture against Al-Khaleej. He completed 100% of his dribbles, 86% of his 36 passes and 100% of his three long balls in his 82-minute outing.

Al-Ahli currently sit joint top of the Saudi Pro League alongside Al-Ittihad and Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq. Unsurprisingly, Mahrez is proving to be a great addition to the team.

Gundogan left City and joined Barcelona this summer.

Following a tense moment for Barcelona regarding the midfielder's registration, he was officially added to the first-team squad list on August 13, making his debut in a 0-0 draw with Getafe.

The 32-year-old has since registered one assist for the Blaugrana in a 2-0 home win against Cádiz.
