Matheus Nunes transfer update as dream Man City transfer week outlined
Here are your Manchester City evening headlines for Wednesday, August 30.
City reach verbal agreement for Nunes
Manchester City have moved a step closer to signing Matheus Nunes after reaching a verbal agreement with Wolves for the midfielder.
City saw an offer for Nunes rejected last week and returned with a £47million bid that has now been verbally accepted. Pep Guardiola and City wanted another body in midfield after losing Kevin De Bruyne to injury until the new year.
Wolves had previously expected Nunes to remain at the club past this week's transfer deadline, despite City's attempts to sign him but now a breakthrough has been made.

A late £60million arrival and four exits - what Man City's dream end to the transfer window looks like
Manchester City have tended not to do major business in the final days of a transfer window but will hope to buck that trend this year.
Pep Guardiola has seen £158million worth of talent come through the door so far as he aims to add fresh energy to last season's treble-winning side. All three of Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku have filled gaps left by departing Blues.
Ilkay Gundogan joined Barcelona on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract, while Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte both went to Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr respectively. Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker were both tipped to leave as well, but opted to stay in Manchester with the former signing a two-year contract extension last week.
