A late £60million arrival and four exits - what Man City's dream end to the transfer window looks like

Manchester City have tended not to do major business in the final days of a transfer window but will hope to buck that trend this year.

Pep Guardiola has seen £158million worth of talent come through the door so far as he aims to add fresh energy to last season's treble-winning side. All three of Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku have filled gaps left by departing Blues.

Ilkay Gundogan joined Barcelona on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract, while Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte both went to Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr respectively. Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker were both tipped to leave as well, but opted to stay in Manchester with the former signing a two-year contract extension last week.

That would likely have been it for City in terms of incomings, but the recurrence of Kevin De Bruyne's hamstring problem has left him sidelined until the new year and Guardiola is back in the market. City have since set their sights on Matheus Nunes and saw a £47m bid rejected by Wolves last week. The Portuguese midfielder has since refused to turn up for training and was not involved in Tuesday night's Carabao Cup win over Blackpool.

The Blues will enter crunch talks with Wolves as they aim to trash out a deal in the final days of the window. Gary O'Neil's side will hold firm on their valuation - believed to be around £60m - citing a lack of time to source a replacement.
