Coronation Street fans plan 'petition' as they say 'how dare they' over shock Rovers Return closure news

Coronation Street fans are planning on launching a petition after discovering the Rovers Return is set to close with others exclaiming "how dare they!" The ITV soap's iconic boozer been involved in a bit of a rollercoaster ride of late after Jenny Connor was forced to sell as the cost of living crisis bit the Weatherfield institution.

During Tuesday night's unusual trip to the cobbles (September 26), viewers saw Waterford's manager arrives to break the news that they’re closing the Rovers for an extensive refurbishment and that their contracts have been terminated with immediate effect Jenny and the staff are thrown into a spin.

Luckily, local solicitor Adam Barlow was in the pub at the time and heard everything. Even though the others weren't entitled to anything due to their zero-hour contracts, Adam insisted that Jenny could sue for unfair dismissal, and promised to look at her contract free of charge.

But he later returned to speak to Jenny and the Rovers staff, sharing they could fight Waterford's but they would be left footing the costs when they lose their case. In the meantime, the group, full of rage, thought they might as well go out with a bang before the place was boarded up for the foreseeable future.
