Coronation Street first look as new pictures show Stephen's shock attack on Sarah and Jenny before exit

Coronation Street has revealed a first look at what happens before Stephen Reid exits the cobbles as the long-running storyline reaches a dramatic climax. But before he leaves, it seems the desperate character turns on his own by attacking his niece Sarah Barlow and partner Jenny Connor.

Fans have known that the broke businessman-turned-serial killer's time in the ITV soap was coming up and Super Soap Week appeared to be the perfect opportunity to say goodbye.

But for how - and exactly what he does before he leaves Weatherfield - viewers will have to watch on Friday night (October 13) to see. But what is certain is that Stephen's reign of terror will reach a dramatic climax on the cobbles, more than a year after he made a sudden return from Milan to be reunited with the Platts.
