Coronation Street fans point out blunder as 'trick' used and Tim’s confirmed alive

Coronation Street fans think they have spotted an obvious blunder as they finally discovered Tim Metcalfe was still alive. There have been a lot of asking 'where's Tim?' during the ITV soap's Super Soap Week after he was brutally attacked by exiting serial killer Stephen Reid.

Tim had Stephen's card marked for some time, particularly after his mother Elaine discovered that partner Stephen had taken out a life insurance policy in her name and as viewers knew, Stephen, played by Todd Boyce, had been plotting to kill his fiancée on a trip to the Peak District.

But Corrie viewers will remember Tim spying on Stephen after he took a trip to the canal to check if victim Teddy Thompkins' body was still in the car roof box he'd dumped after killing him and stuffing him inside. And it was Tim's distinctive ringtone that landed him in trouble as Stephen remembered the noise he heard later on the street, being the same he heard when at the canal.

During Monday night's Corrie (October 9), viewers saw a passing comment by Brian Packham about Stephen signing up to the canal dredging initiative spark Tim's interest. After jumping in his cab that had been at the garage, he left the street and it wasn't long before Tim made the grizzly discovery of Teddy Thomkins' body in the car roof box.

Tim rushed back to his cab and tried to call the police but the signal wasn't great and he was cut off before, in dramatic scenes, he was attacked by Stephen - twice. Stephen suddenly appeared in the back seat of the car and,
