But after that brave Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid they were running on empty as Brendan Rodgers’ Easter Road struggles returned with a disappointing 0-0 draw.

And David Bryce, Troon, wasn’t happy with the Parkhead manager’s team selection at Hibs as he said: “Rodgers got plenty of plaudits midweek but Saturday in Leith was an absolute disgrace. Only he will know why he played the same side that drew with Atletico when they were clearly shattered! Rodgers should be embarrassed at his woeful Easter Road record, it’s an absolute disgrace! His insistence on playing Daizen Maeda and Callum McGregor in every single game is costing us dear! An absolutely woeful result!” Steven Campbell added: “I really think this Celtic side has some big potential but this week’s results show we need to add more strength and depth. It was great to see them put everything into that contest with Atletico but it was clear many of the players had little left to give when it came to Saturday’s game at Hibs. Hopefully that’s something Brendan can address in January.”
