Law and District athletes lap up cross country success in various races

Law and District athletes braved wet and windy conditions in Glasgow as the cross country season got underway earlier this month.

The club had a number of athletes taking part in different events, with the West District Cross Country Relays at Alexandra Park up first.

Junior and senior teams took part and the results there were as follows:

Young Females: 7th - Emily Taylor, Olivia Inglis, Jessica Inglis; 16th - Olivia Kelly, Lucy Taylor, Neve Elliott; 32nd - Nieve Fitzpatrick, Erin McGurk, Alayna McCann. Also running in an incomplete team were Eilidh Boyle and Sarah Chambers

Young Males: 8th - Alexander Wotherspoon, John Frood, Ryan Kellock

Senior Women: 16th - Reagan Binnie, Elaine Boyle, Lesley Graham

Senior Men: 14th Kieran Pugh, Darran Muir, Matthew Gillon, Allan Neill; 35th Jordon Morrison, Ross Penny, Ben Fountain, Bobby Hill. Also running in an incomplete team were Mark Hand and Martin Kay.

Meanwhile, several youngsters competed in the AJ Bell Junior and Mini Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, followed by many seniors taking part Great Scottish Run 10k or half marathon the following day.

Siblings Allyssa and James Bennet thoroughly enjoyed their junior run with finishing places of ninth and 56th, respectively.

An outstanding race by Ross MacDonald earned a brilliant finish in the half marathon with 14th place, followed by Kieran Pugh 84th, Allan Neill 97th, Logan Whitton 159th, Grant MacKenzie 162nd, Jordon Morrison 168th, Elaine Boyle 524th, Bobby Hill 2385th. Also running were Mark Milligan and Christine Neill.

There were more impressive performances from club youngsters at the Scottish Primary Schools and Scottish Secondary Schools Road Races in Pittencrief Park, Dunfermline, with standout performances from P6
