Brendan Rodgers insists Kyogo Furuhashi and Matt O’Riley remind him of some of his famous telepathic double acts.

And Rodgers is looking to the pair to pick up where they left off.

"The relationship between training and the game is important. I had Maddison and Vardy who were similar. Coutinho with (Daniel) Sturridge or Suarez was similar too. If you watch James play, he always needs a connection with someone in front of him, he needs runners.

“You watch him now (at Spurs) when he takes the ball, he’s got Son who he will feed and find, and for me it was Jamie Vardy. He was great.
