It seems like a lifetime ago since Manchester United legend David Beckham took control of Inter Miami in the MLS following his retirement from football; though in reality, he's only just getting started.
Billed as the first real European superstar to venture across the Atlantic to ply his trade in the United States, media madness surrounding Beckham engulfed the sport on a global scale when he left Real Madrid for Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007 on a free transfer.
There may not have been a fee involved with the Galacticos, but the endorsements, glamour and reputation increase all bore fruits as fans across the world sat up and began to take notice of a special storm that was brewing in the USA.
Of course, Beckham's stay in the States was a successful one; with two consecutive MLS Cups in 2011 and 2012, the triumphs ensured his tenure on the west coast was not a wasted journey.
