Incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly set to have a limited budget to strengthen the squad in January.
Former United boss Erik ten Hag was backed in the summer with a £200million spend, as he signed five players - Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte.
The Guardian reports there is 'only modest finance' to spend in the new year. However, it's said that while the manager will not have to sell to buy, profitability and sustainability rules mean the books will need to be balanced via sales in order to spend lavishly.
United reached a breakthrough in negotiations with the Portuguese giants on Wednesday and the Manchester Evening News understands United have agreed a fee to appoint Amorim.
