Newcastle now 'on the lookout' for Ekitike alternative at St James' Park

Newcastle United will be on the lookout for attacking options this summer after missing out on Hugo Ekitike, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.  The striker made the decision to join Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan from Rennes this summer leaving Eddie Howe looking for alternatives.

Unsurprisingly, Newcastle have been the focus of plenty of transfer speculation this summer with their takeover making them one of the wealthiest players in the market.

Nick Pope and Sven Botman have arrived while Matt Targett has made his loan move from Aston Villa permanent as Howe continues to build his side at St.

James’s Park. The focus now seems to be on strengthening their attacking options. Ekitike was clearly a top target in the North East with the Magpies pushing for his signature in both January and the summer, as Sheth states.
