Manchester United summer signing Manuel Ugarte has acknowledged he is joining a club that is in transition but says he has faith in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s project.
The midfielder was unveiled to the Old Trafford faithful prior to Sunday’s damaging 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, in which midfield colleague Casemiro made two mistakes that led to goals before being hooked at half-time.
Ugarte is hoped to bring more stability to the spine of the team, but Erik ten Hag warned that it could take “months” for the 23-year-old to get up to speed.
However, the player himself has told the media in native Uruguay that he feels ready to be called upon after the international break.
