Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said it is not up to him whether Mason Greenwood returns to the club. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) announced on February 2 that criminal proceedings against the footballer had been discontinued.
The forward had previously been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault, allegations relating to the same woman, but those charges were all dropped.
Shortly after the GMP announcement, United confirmed that the club would conduct an internal investigation to 'determine next steps'.
During this time, Greenwood has not trained with the first team or been available to play.
