The body of a man has been discovered in a Greater Manchester canal. Emergency services are at the scene in Salford where the body was found.

In a post on X, Salford Police (GMP) said: "#INCIDENT | Emergency services are currently responding to reports of a body in water in the canal near Fairbrother Street. "Sadly, the body of a man has been discovered.
A scene remains in place and detectives are investigating the full circumstances surrounding this incident." This is a breaking news story.
