LIVE: Man's body discovered in Greater Manchester canal
The body of a man has been discovered in a Greater Manchester canal.
Emergency services are at the scene in Salford where the body was found.
It follows reports of a body in the water in the canal near Fairbrother Street.

Greater Manchester Police issued a statement on social media on Sunday (October 20). In a post on X, Salford Police (GMP) said: "#INCIDENT | Emergency services are currently responding to reports of a body in water in the canal near Fairbrother Street.
"Sadly, the body of a man has been discovered. A scene remains in place and detectives are investigating the full circumstances surrounding this incident."

The area is cordoned off right next to an apartment complex, our reporter at the scene says.

Residents have spoken of their shock after police cordoned off the area at around 2pm.
Police have been in attendance here since the body of a man was found in the water. Numerous police vehicles remain in attendance this afternoon. Further details are yet to be released.
