manchestereveningnews.co.uk

Those hoping to see more of last week's sunshine in Greater Manchester will be disappointed, with grey skies and cold weather forecast this week.

There will be some signs of the sun early this week but the majority of the time it will be cloudy and temperatures will just stretch to double figures before improving by the weekend.

The Met Office forecast predicts a week of 'sunshine and showers, which may turn wintry over the hills in north west England.' Across the UK, temperatures will be 'colder than average.' Monday (April 24) is set to be cloudy in Greater Manchester, with spells of grey, overcast cloud and temperatures peaking at 10C.

The forecaster said conditions would feel 'colder than of late with a northeasterly breeze' while temperatures will drop to 2C overnight.
