Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has delivered his verdict on Manchester United's decision to sack Erik ten Hag following their dismal start to the season.

United confirmed in a club statement on Monday morning that Ten Hag has been given his marching orders after Sunday's drab 2-1 defeat at West Ham.

They have won just four of their opening 13 matches across all competitions and sit 14th in the Premier League table on just 11 points from a possible 27.

A club statement read: "Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men's first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
