Erik ten Hag Manchester United verdict delivered as Ineos slammed
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has delivered his verdict on Manchester United's decision to sack Erik ten Hag following their dismal start to the season.
United confirmed in a club statement on Monday morning that Ten Hag has been given his marching orders after Sunday's drab 2-1 defeat at West Ham. They have won just four of their opening 13 matches across all competitions and sit 14th in the Premier League table on just 11 points from a possible 27.
A club statement read: "Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men's first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future."

Now, Jordan has had his say on whether United have made the right decision to fire Ten Hag - a matter of months after deciding to keep him in situe and handing him a new one-year contract extension. He also offered his reaction to United's decision to name Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim manager.
Jordan told talkSPORT: "I would have argued in the summer that I wouldn't have expected him to have been kept on. When they said in the summer that they were going to extend his contract, I said he'll be gone by Christmas.
"He's gone before that and I anticipate what he might have got was the next four or five games, but they obviously think that is irrelevant because the next four or five games are perhaps games United will win. That does not alter the landscape of how they're going to overcome the major adversity, which is better teams in the division.
