Manchester United set to raid Arsenal for best-in-class signing in Sir Jim Ratcliffe masterplan

Manchester United are set to welcome Arsenal physio Jordan Reece to their ranks. The Reds have made an offer to Reece, who is highly regarded in the Premier League, and final discussions regarding his departure date are underway.

The move comes as part of a medical review being conducted by United's head of sports medicine, Dr Gary O'Driscoll, a former Arsenal employee himself and already familiar with Reece's work. The appointment will be seen as a significant win for the Old Trafford management given the club's alarming injury record this season.

Reece has earned a reputation for his effective work with players, having been credited with aiding players like Gabriel Jesus through long-term issues. He is considered one of the best in his field, reports the Mirror.

Arsenal, however, are not keen on losing him, having previously fought to retain O'Driscoll before his move to Old Trafford last season. United's poor injury record is something they are determined to address this summer under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS lieutenant Sir Dave Brailsford.

Changes have already been made this season, including a shake-up of the medical team which resulted in some departures. However, the intention has always been to implement further changes and improvements.

Despite their FA Cup triumph, United manager Erik ten Hag has attributed the team's underwhelming season to a lengthy injury list. The club is now scrutinising training methods and rehabilitation processes in an attempt to identify any underlying issues, while also seeking top-tier medical advice.
