Michael Duff has confirmed that Blackburn Rovers are in talks to sign Callum Brittain from Barnsley which could trigger the loan exit of James Brown.
As reported by on Wednesday, the 24-year-old will become Jon Dahl Tomasson's first signing. Providing any late hitches, the deal could be confirmed this week.
Rovers have been admirers of Brittain in previous windows and have now made their move to strengthen the right-back slot. Whilst Tomasson wouldn't comment precisely on the defender, Duff admitted Rovers are speaking to the player. “They are in talks but I genuinely don’t know where it’s up to," he said after Barnsley's friendly at Harrogate Town on Wednesday night. "I imagine there might be more news tomorrow.” Brittain's arrival will allow James Brown to leave on loan.
