When the first Celtic vs Rangers clash is as 2024/25 SPFL Premiership fixtures are announced

Celtic and Rangers will go head to head for the first time on Matchday FOUR of the new Scottish Premiership season.

Brendan Rodgers' men lifted the league title last season and in that run to title glory they dominated the derby fixture and will be hoping to maintain that record heading into the new campaign. Philippe Clement will be desperate to get that first win over the Hoops and his first chance will come as early as August. The duo will meet at Parkhead on the 31st of the month.

The traditional New Year Old Firm is the second league outing between the pair and that comes on Matchday 21 on January 2. This will take place at Ibrox and will be played on a Thursday with the game already announced as a Sky Sports fixture. The opening game of the season will be picked up by the broadcasters with details yet to be confirmed. It will be a similar story for the final fixture before the league split with Glasgow's east end taking the centre stage once again on Matchday 30 on Saturday, March 15.
