When the first Hibs vs Hearts clash is as 2024/25 SPFL Premiership fixtures are announced

Hearts claimed the tag as best of the rest in the Scottish Premiership and with that the top team in Edinburgh last season - and they'll get the chance to cement that on October 26.

Steven Naismith's Jambos finished in third sport behind Celtic and Rangers in the final standings and with a European adventure on the horizon, they will be desperate to show they can compete on both big stages. Across the city it was a season to forget for the Hibees who failed to land a top six finish and sacked boss Nick Montgomery. Club hero David Gray has stepped up to the full-time manager gig after successful interim stints and his task will be to get back in that top half and challenge for European football.

The supporters can already start marking off the big dates in the diary as they get planning underway and that first game they all look for is the Edinburgh derby with the first meeting coming in October at Easter Road between the pair. It's then a festive cracker in front of the Sky Sports cameras at Tynecastle on Boxing Day before another battle in Leith on March 1. They duo could meet a fourth time in the league depending on the final positions in the league standings after Matchday 33.
