When does the SPFL transfer window close? Summer shut date revealed

The transfer window in the SPFL is starting to properly pick up now with deals being done up and down the country.

Michael Beale has been a busy man after a complete Rangers rebuild. The likes of Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Jack Butland have all arrived. It's a welcome change for those at Ibrox, with a new era dawning after the departures of club icons including Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

At Celtic, the signings were also coming in thick and fast after Brendan Rodgers returned to the club. Marco Tilio, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, Yang Hyun-jun and Odin Thiago Holm have all joined forces in the east end of Glasgow.

Elsewhere, Hibs are making themselves known with seven signings of their own as Lee Johnson aims to spend the Kevin Nisbet money, whilst Hearts have finally got into gear with a couple of signings in the Steven Naismith era. But with just over a month remaining, fans will be keeping one eye on the transfer deadline alongside the start of the new season. But when do the transfer formalities finish in Scotland? Record Sport has you covered.

The transfer window will close at midnight on Friday September 1 - an hour later than the English transfer market.

It's been around for a long time now that the SPFL window closes one hour after the English window, which opens up that extra bit of time for deals to get over the line.

The domestic window opened on June 14, whilst the international window only opened on July 1 - though both will shut at the same time.

Clubs will be able to do business again at the turn of the new year at midnight on January 1, with the window shutting just over a month later at midnight on Friday, February 2.
