Dylan Vente seals Hibs transfer as Lee Johnson bolsters attack with new striker on 3 year deal

Dylan Vente has become Hibs ninth recruit of the summer, signing a three-year deal at Easter Road.

The Roda JC forward has been swooped by Lee Johnson and co after last week's dismal Europa Conference League defeat to Inter D'Escaldes, with the Hibees responding by bolstering attacking options after the exit of top star Kevin Nisbet to Millwall. Only veteran Adam Le Fondre has been an attacking recruit so far, but Hibs have pulled off a coup with 24-year-old Vente with the likes of Palermo and Pisa said to have been interested.

The Dutch attacker makes the switch to Easter Road and he joins the likes of Jordan Obita and former Dundee United star Dylan Levitt as a new summer recruit. Speaking after the signing, Johnson said: “First of all, I would like to thank the club who have worked extremely hard to get this deal over the line, in particular, Ben Kensell, Ian Gordon and Brian McDermott with the negotiations and the financial backing from the Gordon family to bring a player of Dylan’s quality in.

“Dylan is a player coming into his prime who has a natural ability for both scoring and creating goals. I am really excited to see how he adapts to the intensity of the Scottish game because we know he has the ability to be very successful here.

“The squad is coming together really nicely now, we have got several options in key positions – which will be crucial for us moving forward this season.”
