Motherwell striker has 'contract terminated' as he agrees India link-up with old boss

Connor Shields has had his Motherwell contract terminated and agreed on a big-money move to Indian side Chennaiyin on a one-year contract.

The 25-year-old from Coatbridge is set to link up again with former Queen's Park boss Owen Coyle, who he worked with while on a loan spell at the Spiders last season.

Shields is set to travel to India and begin preparation for the new season, starting next Monday.

He had a year left on his Motherwell contract, but the Fir Park club have agreed to rip that up and that will give boss Stuart Kettlewell more money to play with as he bids to bring in more forward players.
